Every community deserves a good website.
Village halls, clubs and local groups often run on volunteers and tight budgets. When someone sponsors their website for £20 a month, the group gets a fast, properly built site with weekly updates, and pays nothing for it.
One community website
£20 a month, flatLess if the community chips in towards it.
Choose your pathChoose your path
There are three ways in. Pick the one that fits and you will see exactly what happens next.
Put your business behind your community
Sponsor a local group's website for £20 a month and be credited with your name and a link.
Sponsor as a business For individualsKeep your community online
Back the village hall, club or group you care about, on your own or by sharing the cost with neighbours.
Sponsor as a person For groupsGet a website without the cost
Village halls, clubs, charities and classes: a sponsor covers your site and you send updates once a week.
Ask for supportThree simple parts
A group gets a website. A sponsor covers the monthly cost. Everyone can see who made it possible.
01
A community gets a site
I build a clean, fast website for a village hall, club, society or local group, and keep it up to date through a weekly update round.
- Built and hosted by me, personally
- Contact form, privacy and cookie policies
- One batch of changes a week
02
A sponsor covers £20 a month
One person or one local business sponsors the site: a single flat amount, rather than asking lots of people for small sums.
- Individual or business, both welcome
- Pay a little less if the community contributes
- No contract, cancel any time
03
The sponsor is credited
A "Supported by" line on the community's website says who is helping keep it online.
- Your name, or business name and link
- Seen by everyone who uses the site
- Local goodwill that is easy to see
Honest about the £20
Your sponsorship pays for a real service delivered by one person, so it is worth being clear about exactly what it is.
It is a sponsorship, not a charitable donation. JW Supporting Communities is not a charity, and there is no Gift Aid. The £20 a month pays for the website to be built, hosted and kept up to date, so the community gets all of that at no cost to them.
What your £20 a month covers
- Fast, secure hosting and the domain
- A weekly update round: send changes by Tuesday, live Wednesday to Friday
- Your "Supported by" credit, with a link if you like
- Keeping the site working and looking right
If the community chips in: a group that contributes £5 a month means the sponsor covers £15. It is entirely up to them.
The first three are on me
To show this works, I am building the first three community websites completely free. Once they are live you will be able to see exactly what a sponsor is supporting.
